All my rugs are handcrafted by me. I put a lot of care and love into them. My goal is to create long-lasting pieces of art for you to assist you with creating your style at home and to bring you joy.
Rugs are made using two techniques:
- Tufting gun – creates cut pile.
- Punch needle – creates loop pile.
Yarn
Most of the time I am using 100% New Zealand wool. The yarn is twisted and manufactured in Europe. It is not too soft and the perfect quality for rug making. This yarn has all the natural advantages of high-quality wool. It is also dirt resistant, resilient, moth-proof and water-repellent.
But from time to time, I visit second-hand stores and in search of yarn for recycling. If I find a good wool cardigan or wool yarn leftovers, I will ‘rescue’ it and reuse it. Rugs made from this type of yarn are one of a kind because it is impossible to find enough of the same color or quantity of yarn. Working with such yarn I create very unique pieces.
Color pallet
There is a wide palette of colors to choose from. I aim to use photos that display the color of the rugs as accurately as possible, however, due to differences in monitors, there may be variations between the actual product and the colors on your screen.
Backing
The pile is secured in place by coating the back of the rug with a latex type of adhesive. Usually, an anti-slip mesh (good for bathroom rugs) or anti-slip felt backing is applied to the back of the carpet to create a finished look. Please note all rugs have a non-slip backing.
